Design Engineers

Our client is a leading manufacturer of a range of engineered products and lead the way in product development. Due to an increase in demand, they now have exciting opportunities for experienced Design Engineers to join their successful team. Reporting to, and working closely with the Design Engineering Manager, the Design Engineer will work as part of a team in the specification and development of a wide range of specialist products. This will include design, research, prototyping, creation of BoM’s and the updating of necessary documentation, including project plans. and collaborating with Procurement, Production and Fabrication teams on all new design projects to ensure that all products are fit for purpose and in line with Company Standards and Methods of Manufacture. General Responsibilities: To create and maintain 3D models and 2D CAD for new designs and support of existing product range To research new materials and technologies To create design concepts for new product offerings and communicate and review stage To create prototypes of new concepts and verify designs with Production and Procurement teams Carry out testing as required on prototype designs Ensure any designs and assemblies are made in line with industry and internal standards To comply with Company rules and regulations To perform duties in a cost-effective manner To contribute to and maintain good customer and employee relations To present a well-groomed and professional image Maintain an active interest in Company developments To live and promote the company values of respect, collaboration, courage, ambition and passion Key responsibilities: To assist with the research and development of innovative solutions for the companies planned new products to enhance their current product range Work on accessories through to complete new vehicle product design Manage projects to meet specification, cost and timeline requirements Provide technical support for products and production To design for manufacturing for both the UK and internationally Lean manufacturing techniques to be incorporated within each design To consider potential warranty implication of any new designs Keep abreast of all vehicle manufacturers proposed new designs for the future To be customer facing and working with the sales team to advise and support multi vehicle orders where there are particular engineering requirements required to secure the order Work with the Production Engineering team to ensure the above requirements are implemented into the Production line in an efficient manner The Person Firstly, a motivated, positive and team focussed individual, you will be qualified, ideally, to Degree level in an Engineering or a related discipline, an experienced Design Engineer, working from concept to final design and be proficient in the use of 3D CAD packages Knowledge of injection moulding and Additive Manufacturing techniques would be beneficial although not essential.
