Alexander Steele is delighted to continue their partnership with one of Scotland's finest Food Brands; our client has a unique opportunity within their Agricultural division.
Our client now requires Veterinary Manager to join the business, and this is a fantastic role for someone passionate about working in Agriculture, in a beautiful part of Scotland within the Central Belt.
The role will develop over time. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to not only manage the veterinary side of things but will have the possibility to grow into a full farm management role long term if desired.
It’s a wonderful opportunity to join a business with exciting growth plans that can offer the successful individual a long term role in Agriculture, with a business that maintains the highest possible standards of welfare for their livestock and continually investing, to making sure they are as sustainable as possible.
This role offers the successful individual a salary of up to £50k, plus accommodation so this would suit someone based locally, or if you are in a position to relocate then, this would be a great option as accommodation is provided.
The Role:
Ensuring routine vaccinations are completed, treat sick animals, planning and implementing health plans providing prevention of ill animals, lameness scoring and foot trimmings
Regular fertility work, including PD's etc., Monitoring and developing the fertility performance of the herd
Working closely with nutritionists and general manager to ensure production volume and efficiency targets are achieved
Completing all necessary records and standards to achieve Red Tractor accreditation and customer requirements
Managing the team to ensure work completed efficiently to support you in achieving your targets
Grass management including grazing and forage production to achieve optimum quality
Participate in farmer meetings and external organisations as required.
The Candidate:
Large Animal qualified Vet, preferably within food manufacturing.
Experienced in working in a fast-paced environment and manage a varied workload
Mircosoft Office literate
Forage Management and planning
Able to work under pressure and manage own workload along with others
