Alexander Steele Recruitment is currently working with a fantastic Manufacturing business based in Fife. We are currently assisting them with the recruitment of a Maintenance Engineer to join their business. Working Monday - Friday - Dayshift paying up to £35,000 for the right candidate. Job Purpose: Implementation of maintenance activity determined by maintenance plans, problem-solving, Continuous Improvement activity related to OEE improvement and machine efficiency The Role As part of a manufacturing team, provide adequate and timely line cover, minimising setup and breakdown losses during production. Carry out line changeovers to agreed standards and procedures Maintain and improve line performance about agreed targets Ensure planned preventative maintenance is completed as scheduled Provide adequate first-line response to Bottling operations requirements. Participate in operations and engineering improvement initiatives Ensure continuity of work priorities and information flow during dayshift and backshift changeovers Multi-skill as required to meet the needs of the business Complete all recording and reporting procedures accurately and timely through other agreed means Provide administrative support to the engineering team through effective written and verbal communication in support of the above Ensure personal and work area housekeeping standards are achieved. Initiate, implement and follow up of minor projects in a continuous improvement environment. The Candidate Must possess a recognised trade qualification - To have served a multiskilled apprenticeship and having electrical stuff such as 17/18th edition is preferable. Can be primarily Mechanical or Electrical but must possess skills in another discipline Ideally qualified to HNC level in Mechatronics. Experience in packaging lines would be beneficial, preferably in the Spirit bottling industry. Exercises individual core technical skills effectively, flexibly and to high personal standards Knowledge of PLC, Variable speed control, servo drive and Allen Bradley programming ability. Contributes to the manufacturing team with a positive and flexible attitude Displays practical Root Cause Analysis and Continuous Improvement skills Demonstrates the ability to develop new skills and train others Numerate and literate with good written and verbal communication skills Computer literate and able to operate business maintenance systems Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision Understands and contributes to continuous improvement Understands KPI's and contributes to the achievement of business, departmental and company objectives Provides plant and process training to fellow technicians and operators Understands and complies with all relevant legal and company standards for Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, Site Security and general housekeeping If you're interested and would like to learn more about this opportunity, please apply with your most recent CV or contact Clarke Smith directly.
