About our Client
We are working with an established food manufacturer in Leeds.
The Role
Our client is seeking a National Account Manager to manage and grow the retail accounts in support of delivering the long-term business goals.
Key responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day relationships with major retail accounts.
- Deliver volume, margin, and growth targets through effective account planning and joint business plans.
- Work collaboratively with NPD, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to bring new products to market and ensure seamless delivery.
- Negotiate pricing, promotions, and trading terms in line with company strategy.
- Analyse category and sales data to identify growth opportunities and recommend actions.
- Ensure all product launches and range reviews are delivered on time and in full.
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and customer feedback to inform strategic decisions.
- Contribute to the wider commercial strategy, supporting innovation and efficiency initiatives.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, account reports, and performance tracking.
- 1–3 years’ experience in an FMCG commercial or account management role.
- A confident communicator with a strong backbone - able to challenge constructively, negotiate effectively, and hold your own in retailer discussions.
- Highly organised and adaptable: capable of “spinning many plates” in a fast-paced environment while keeping detail and accuracy front of mind.
- Commercially astute with strong numeracy, Excel, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and collaborative.
- Up to £50,000 basic salary (depending on experience)
- £4,500 Car allowance
- 3% employer pension contribution
