Packaging Development Manager

Alexander Steele are working in partnership with a well-established FMCG business to recruit a Packaging Development Manager for their site in Leeds.

This is a high-profile, commercially focused role where you’ll take ownership of packaging development across a diverse product portfolio. You’ll play a key role in driving innovation, cost optimisation, and sustainability, while working cross-functionally to deliver packaging solutions from concept through to factory implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of innovative packaging solutions aligned to business and category strategy
• Manage end-to-end packaging projects, from concept design through to production and launch
• Collaborate with internal teams including Production, Technical, Engineering, and Commercial to ensure seamless delivery
• Work closely with suppliers and OEMs to stay at the forefront of packaging technology and innovation
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise cost, performance, and efficiency
• Support sustainability initiatives, improving environmental impact across materials and processes
• Manage specifications and ensure all packaging meets legislative requirements
• Support cost-saving initiatives through alternative sourcing and specification development

On Offer

• Salary: £45,000
• 25 days holiday plus banks
• Pension scheme (5% employee / 3% employer)
