Alexander Steele has partnered with a leading global Fresh Produce business that is urgently looking for a seasoned Procurement professional who will have accountability for spend across the group. This will include sites in Ireland and across Europe. You will lead the strategic sourcing activities with the goal of achieving significant cost reductions, while managing price risk and maintaining/improving product quality and vendor service levels. Key Accountabilities include: Leading sourcing activities, overseeing all activities related to procurement of raw materials, packaging, and consumables from intent to purchase through to delivery of the material Developing and implementing sourcing strategies for categories in the region while contributing to wider strategy formation and execution Source and establish relationships with suppliers that minimize the Group’s total cost of ownership, while upholding internal and external policies, governmental regulations and laws and maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct Prepare and review contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications Address operational issues with vendors. Review and resolve vendor claims and contracts for conformance to company policy Candidate requirements: A Degree/Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain/Commerce or equivalent IIPMM/CIPS qualification will be advantageous. At least 5 years of a successful track record working within the Manufacturing Industry in Procurement/Supply Chain or related field with at least 3-years of experience in the procurement area in a Food Manufacturing-Consumer Goods (FMCG) company Fundamental Supply & Demand and technical analysis of commodity futures markets Strong price risk management skills People management and leadership experience Salary will be circa €65 000 to €70 000 plus benefits. The role will be based in the County Monaghan area.
