Project Engineer

Alexander Steele are currently working in partnership with a multinational food manufacturing business based in the Greater London area. We have been asked to assist the business with the recruitment of an Engineering Project Engineer / Manager. This would be a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your career and join an organisation who can really invest you and develop your career As the business Project Engineer you will be a key member of the team and you will support the Head of Capital Projects with all engineering activities on assigned projects. You will manage the delivery of various capital projects throughout the site ensuring that complexity, cost and time-constraints are fully understood and managed. The salary / package on offer is circa £60,000 - £65,000 p/a. The Role: Manage the capital project process from concept (scope, benefits, justification) through to completion to ensure that projects are successfully completed; risks to the business are minimised. Lead project update meetings and continually monitor progress to ensure meeting of specific deadlines and document project status and issues. Take control and ownership of the delivery of key projects including budget time plan and technical solution Responsible for all stages of projects from development through to delivery. including, URS creation, early procurement engagement, tendering and supplier selection, Resource, time and cost management Control of contractors in line with CDM principles. Contract management The Candidate: Either time served Mechanical Engineer educated to HND level or hold a recognised Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aeronautical Engineering Experience delivering engineering projects in project engineering position. Proven capability within an FMCG organisation including the ability to positively engage at senior level. Strong Project Management skills. Strong engineering thinking. Food Manufacturing Industry Specific Skills are desirable i.e. build production line, office, build in innovation - propose ideas for optimisation / cost base reduction Proven project management experience High commercial acumen This is an opportunity to really make a difference, drive change and continuous improvement within an impressive manufacturing facility.
