Alexander Steele Recruitment are delighted to be working in partnership with one of the UK’s leading food manufacturers during an a time of growth for the business. Our client makes award winning products and they are proud to supply to UK retailers, restaurants and hotels. They have a Royal Warrant too so even the Queen receives their products! This excellent business has a new and exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Quality Manager to join their Technical function on site in London. The Quality Manager will support the Group Head of Technical by ensuring site compliance to the quality manual and enforcing GMP practices on site. This is a hands-on position within the units. Key responsibilities for the role: •Manage a team of QAs •Ensure compliance to BRCGS within the units •Ensure compliance to customers standards – especially retailers and groups •Manage the site Internal Auditing •Managing a robust auditing program to include GMP, glass, wood and other physical audits •Managing daily QA checks, assess raw materials specifications, management of technical runner •Providing training for new starters •Lead investigation and root cause analysis for all non-conformances and customer complaints •Link with customer facing teams and provide support to these teams •Main contact for pest control and chemical supplier •Responsible for document management systems •Assure compliance with quality and industry requirement The Candidate: •Professional qualification in Food Safety or similar field / 4+ years food manufacturing experience •Level 3 HACCP and Level 3 Food Safety •Good literacy and numericay skills •Experience of managing a team •Excellent communication skills with influencing skills •Pragmatic and hands-on approach to the position with drive and enthusiasm •Auditor qualification •Recognised allergen qualification •A basic understanding of customer codes of practice (e.g.: allergen, labelling and coding, and foreign body detection •Training in root cause analysis methods and tools •Proficient in Microsoft packages, especially Excel Our client will pay circa £40,000 for the right candidate.
