Specifications Technologist

Alexander Steele Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a great food manufacturing business based in Fife to recruit a Specifications Technologist to join their site due to continued growth. As a Specifications Technologist, reporting directly to the Technical Manager, you will play a key role in the Technical department. The Role: - Write and maintain specifications for all customers, ensuring that the information provided is accurate. - Liaise with other technical functions such as NPD (New Product Development) to ensure all customer and internal specifications are met. - Assist with writing, reviewing, and maintaining the internal process specifications and quality attribute sheets to ensure they reflect customer specifications. - Ensure all specifications for raw materials and finish products are approved and up to date. - Review and maintaining the approved supplier list. - Supporting the technical team with customer/site audits. - Maintain the supplier approval status and update accordingly. - Review raw materials specifications prior to customer launches, ensuring they are signed off by the technical team. The Candidate: - Have previous experience within a food manufacturing industry. - Understanding of nutrition, food intolerance/allergens, microbiology, nutritional and chemical analysis. - Knowledge of up to date legislation regarding the clients products. - Graduate/Undergraduate Qualification in Food Science, Technology/Nutrition or otherwise relevant. - Excellent communication skills – able to effectively communicate with all relevant departments. - Good organisation skills with ability to multitask. - Strong administration and IT skills The Offer: - Salary: £25,000 - Monday-Friday - Shifts: 0600-1400 If you would like further information on this fantastic opportunity, please apply with your most recent CV or get in touch with Aaron Wallace to find out more.
