Our client is a rapidly growing international engineering business, supplying a wide range of high quality technical decorative products and assemblies. Today the business exports to seventeen different countries around the world from its production plants in Scotland and China and is highly regarded by its global client base through its reputation for quality, innovation, and its committed and professional workforce around the world. Daily Duties • Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities: • The efficient running of the department • Supervision of staff • Co-ordinate and monitor workload within the department • Ensure instructions are being followed and deadlines met tooling • Communicate information to employees • Conduct employee training in processes, equipment operations or work and safety procedures • Drive/support continuous improvement • Maintain accurate records • Support design and development of new injection mould • Assist in design and manufacture of cutting tools, forming tools, jigs and fixtures • Maintain mould, cutting, forming tools for production use • Support and guide external toolmakers on new tooling requests Requirements • Served a 4-year apprenticeship • 4+ years’ experience (post-apprenticeship) within tool making\manufacturing setting. • A working knowledge of Autocad and CAM systems would be beneficial. • Must be comfortable with integrating new technology into an existing business environment • Experience of injection moulding tooling and press tools would be beneficial.
