Our work began with a detailed consultation with the hiring manager to understand the scope of the Trade Marketeer role, the challenges within the category, and the key opportunities for growth. Together, we agreed the required calibre of candidate, essential skills, preferred industry background, and outlined a clear timeline and recruitment plan.

We launched a focused search across the local market, targeting experienced Trade Marketing professionals with strong backgrounds in branded consumer goods. Our approach included:

  • Identifying candidates with B2B trade marketing experience and knowledge of the UK’s major retailers

  • Assessing candidates’ ability to manage senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional projects

  • Shortlisting individuals with proven leadership, commercial awareness, and sector experience

  • Presenting a targeted list of four to six high-quality candidates motivated to join Mitsubishi Pencil
