Here at Alexander Steele we continue to work in partnership with one of the UK's leading food manufacturing businesses and we are supporting them in their search for a Buyer to join the Supply Chain team at their site in Bedfordshire. On offer: A salary up to £35,000 doe Working Monday to Friday with up to 2 days a week WFH 33 days holiday Enhanced pension Life insurance The role: Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Buyer will be responsible for implementing and delivering procurement strategies across key spend areas and ensuring total cost-effective purchasing. • Negotiation and management of purchasing contracts • Ensure plans are put in place to ensure continuity of goods supply • Manage suppliers and ensure quality and service expectations are met at all times • Support R&D projects and identify new product demands • First point of escalation from the purchasing team for raw material supply issues Candidate requirements: • A minimum of 2 year’s Buying, Purchasing or Procurement experience within food or drink manufacturing • A degree in Food Science, Procurement, Supply Chain, Commerce or equivalent work experience • Strategic sourcing experience • Ability to negotiate and engage effectively with suppliers • Be self-motivated and confident in decision making • Ability to work in a fast-paced, pressurised environment If you think this if the role for you please apply along with an up to date CV.
