Alexander Steele is working with a food manufacturing business based in Worcestershire They are currently looking for a hands-on Health & Safety Manager to lead the Environmental, Health & Safety agenda across the operation. The EHS Manager will proactively plan, organise, and manage a comprehensive risk management and loss prevention program to protect the business and its employees from exposure to risks that could have adverse consequences We would consider candidates operating at a management or lead level and we would also consider experienced candidates who want to step up into their first management position. The Role: •Ensure that safety, security, food defence and environment comply with and meets all legal, ethical and community standards •Manage accident reporting and investigations and liaise with the relevant authorities, external bodies where necessary •Review and improve safety systems, documentation, and manuals to ensure that best practice is followed •Weekly and monthly KPI and statistics reporting •Advise the business on current and proposed legislation •Co-ordination of site safety teams & first aiders •Work with the Plant Manager and site teams to ensure a robust safety system is in place •Manage continuous safety improvement projects •Drive site safety culture, raise awareness and steer required behaviours and work practices •Co-ordination of safety protocols for external contractors •Accident and near miss investigation and internal reporting •RIDDOR The Candidate: •NEBOSH qualification •Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role and ideally in the food industry •Ability to interact with colleagues at all levels of the business •Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written •Proven track record in achieving results in safety is a must •Ability to work independently on own initiative •Proactive, self-motivated with strong organizational skills What’s On Offer: •£45,000 - £50,000 + 5% bonus •Monday to Friday •33 days holiday •Up to 8.5% pension contribution •Private Health Care •Plus, many more!
