Electrical Maintenance Lead

Our client is a leading producer of a range of products within the chemical process industry. Due to their continued investment and both people and plant, they now require an experienced Electrical Engineer to join their team. Reporting directly and working closely with the Maintenance Manager, this is a key member of the maintenance department. You will provide technical expertise and supervision in electrical engineering and process control for the site, manage the electrical maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance management system, driven by plant inspection. Provide technical assessment and action plans for collected monitoring data to continuously improve the electrical reliability of the plant. Job Requirements (Principal Responsibilities) Ensure good working conditions and safety standards are maintained within all areas of maintenance operations. Ensuring the permit to work system and any other safety system are strictly adhered to. Assess risks, carryout Risk Analysis and plan corrective actions as and when required. Coordination of electrical and process control maintenance and servicing activities for field instrumentation, electrical motors, starters, substation, switchgears, motor control centre, generators and other allied electrical equipment. Coordinate with maintenance planner for inspection and work programs. Prepare work schedules and shift schedule for electrical technicians. Prepare tools, materials and equipment necessary for electrical maintenance activities. Supervise and monitor the electrical installation, repair and maintenance work. Update the accomplished Work Request/Work Order using the Maintenance software package. Contribute to the department budget preparation and manage budget. Identify and control sub-contracting requirements. Work closely with the Process Department to optimize control loops and functions to attain continuous performance improvement. Analise problems and recommend solutions to maximize availability of control equipment. Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours Experience in Automation & centralized control systems, DCS, SCADA, PLCs. Good understanding of Allen Bradley and GE iFIX. Self-motivated with a proven ability to motivate and manage others. Trouble-shooting and problem-solving techniques. Planning and control of activities. Knowledge of and commitment to, safety, environmental and statutory requirements. Knowledge and experience of maintenance methods, tools and systems. Good knowledge of Microsoft office and AutoCad. A willingness to embrace change in our drive for continued improvements. Education/Experience University degree in Electrical or process control field or HND/HNC OR time served Electrical background. At least 5+ years’ experience working in chemical or related industry. Supervisory experience in heavy industry. Minimum Electrical Reg 17th Addition, DSEAR qualification.
