Engineering Manager

Alexander Steele Recruitment is delighted to working with a manufacturing business as they are looking to appoint an Engineering Manager to their site in Flintshire. You will lead and manage a team of 25 Engineers and develop and implement the site strategy on asset management and care in-order to drive improvement in overall engineering performance Responsibilities: •Ensure day to day priorities do not stifle the longer-term site strategy •Optimise efficiency on site through ensuring effective asset care •Work with projects team to ensure that engineering standards for new equipment and installations are defined and of the highest standards •Ensure that all health, safety and environment, quality, cost and reliability standards are met •Responsible for maintaining and improving the quality and reliability of all assets •Best practice champion for the MMS asset care practice on site •As part of the site senior leadership team, set objectives and priorities and lead the change management processes for the department •Coach direct reports to identify areas of underperformance and produce accident/incident reporting to a level that enables learning and root cause to be established. •Role model the use systemic problem-solving tools within the department •Through leader standard work practices coach direct reports to adhere to root because problem disciplines. •Create and adhere to the asset care budget, and provide input into the capital budget Experience required: •A Proven Engineering Manager with experienced working within FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) •Technical ability to manage in a highly complex environment, delivering practical solutions •Ability to manage people performance, coaching and development of a multi-disciplined team •Exposure to Lean, Six Sigma, TPM or Manufacturing excellence.
