Engineering Team Leader

Alexander Steele is working with a food manufacturer as they are looking to recruit a Multi-skilled Engineering Team Leader for their site in Newcastle. You must have team leading / supervisor experience with a background in the FMCG/Food manufacturing. The role: •Drive the engineering team to improve and better the current maintenance planning & execution system •Review downtime data and key priorities to focus engineering support •Develop stores and spare parts stock requirements for your area of responsibility •Implement a “root cause to manage failure” system – support Engineering Manager to roll out to teams •Lead shift hand over meetings and shift reports •Deliver team briefs and business reports •Provide stand-in support for Site Engineering Manager •Lead external audit visits through the planned maintenance & breakdown procedure •Hands on engineering breakdown support •Support the engineering budget through delivering cost effective maintenance •Drive Capital improvement programs through exposing opportunities, cost / benefit analysis reports, requests for cash and implementation. •H&S Champion always ensuring safe working of your team & others Experienced required •Experience as a Supervisor / Team Leader in a food processing environment •Time served engineer, HNC or ONC Qualification. •Demonstrates a solid working knowledge of GMP and HACCP. •Relevant electrical engineering qualifications •Good mechanical and electrical fault finding and testing skills •Knowledge of PLC’s, pneumatics, and hydraulics On Offer: •£49,000 •Working 4 on 4 off (2 days – 2 nights) •42 hours per week •33 days holiday (pro rata)
