Executive Chef for New Edinburgh Townhouse Position Title: Executive Chef Location: Edinburgh, City Centre Reports To: Owner This role is offering a package of up to £80K (DOE). Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and innovative Executive Chef to lead the culinary operations for our client who is opening a new townhouse. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for culinary excellence, a strong understanding of various cuisines, and the ability to create memorable dining experiences. This role is responsible for menu development, kitchen management, and ensuring the highest quality standards in food preparation and presentation. This multi-level site will have a Mediterranean restaurant, Bar and Event space. Key Responsibilities: Menu Development: Create and design seasonal menus that reflect the vision and theme of the townhouse (Mediterranean cuisine). Develop new recipes and continuously update the menu to ensure variety and innovation. Kitchen Management: Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow. Manage kitchen staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment in compliance with health and safety regulations. Monitor inventory levels and manage food costs to meet budgetary requirements. Food Preparation and Presentation: Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest quality standards, with attention to detail in taste and presentation. Maintain consistency in portion sizes and presentation. Stay updated with culinary trends and incorporate them into the menu. Collaboration and Communication: Working with the Owner to align culinary offerings with the overall vision and strategy of the townhouse. Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction. Communicate effectively with suppliers and vendors to source the best ingredients. Guest Experience: Engage with guests to gather feedback and ensure a positive dining experience. Address and resolve any guest complaints or concerns promptly and professionally. Strive to exceed guest expectations through exceptional culinary offerings and service. Innovation and Improvement: Continuously seek ways to improve kitchen operations, menu offerings, and guest satisfaction. Stay current with industry trends, innovations, and best practices. Experience: Proven experience as an Executive Chef or Head Chef in a high-end restaurant or similar establishment. Culinary degree or equivalent professional training. Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques and trends. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities. Creative and innovative mindset with a passion for food. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency in kitchen equipment and technology.
