Alexander Steele is working in partnership with a European leading producer of quality chilled and frozen food products supplied to retailers, food service, B2B, and Wholesale. Due to exciting growth in the UK, the business is now looking for a Food Technologist to join them at their site in Hertfordshire. On offer: • Salary is £30,000 - £40,000 doe • 25 days holiday • Company pension • Working Mon - Fri The role: The successful incumbent is tasked with the responsibility of maintaining and improving the quality of products and production processes, implementing enhancements across the entire organization. In addition, the Food technologist offers guidance on issues related to food safety, occupational H&S, environmental considerations, and the resolution of complaints. The key responsibilities of the role include: • Maintenance and enhancement of QMS, encompassing HACCP, BRC, and QS standards • Development and implementation of quality control procedures • Formulation of instructions for product and raw material entry and exit checks, along with verification of their accuracy and completeness • Adherence to best practices of the businesses quality control • Organisation and management of laboratory analysis • Creation, management, and ensuring quality, process and procedure manuals • Analysis and improvement of processes • Provision of advice to various departments and management • Formulation of research proposals • Execution and supervision of both internal and external audits Candidate requirements: The business is looking for an individual who has experience within the food industry. You must be able to lead, motivate and drive continuous improvements whilst upholding the businesses beliefs and guiding principles. • A minimum of 2 years experience working in a Technical or Quality position within a food manufacturing or Agent & broker business. • Experience working with meat, poultry or seafood. • A Food Science degree or equivalent • HACCP Level 3 + • Good working knowledge of BRC • Auditing experience If this role is of interest please apply directly with an up to date CV or for more information please contact me on 0131 370 9191 / 07837566646 / tracey.fleming@alexandersteele.com
