Alexander Steele have been tasked to recruit an experienced Health & Safety professional with experience in Manufacturing or a similar industry. This vacancy is with one of the long-standing Food Manufacturing clients based in the Manchester area. This is a wonderful business that is currently going from strength to strength, and this is a newly created role due to the current growth. The Role Within this role you will be responsible for specific facility Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs whilst working with the group EHS manager to recommend corrective actions to establish regulatory compliance. You will have the autonomy to recommend changes to EHS programs, policies and procedures, provide support for facility by inputting and managing EHS data (injuries, illnesses, near misses, hazard spots etc.) into the Gensuite EHS management system. You will administer and coordinate all EHS related training, liaises with site training co-ordinator to ensure EHS training files are kept organized and up to date and provide assistance as needed to the facility in performing accident investigations, facility EHS audits, hearing conservation management, new hire EHS orientation training, risk assessment activity, PPE management etc. This will be a Monday to Friday role working 9 till 5.30pm, although on occasion some flexibility will be required. The salary on offer is up to £35k plus holiday, pension, and other benefits. The Candidate •3 years of experience working in a dedicated HSE role, ideally within a manufacturing or FMCG environment •NEBOSH Certificate , working towards Diploma (or recognised equivalent) •IEMA / NEBOSH Environmental Certificate , working towards Diploma (or recognised equivalent) •Membership of IOSH or another recognised professional body •Membership of IEMA or other recognised environmental body •Thorough understanding of HS&E legislation •Experience of working with external bodies – HSE, EA, EHO, Insurance companies etc •PC literate – Word, Excel, Power point systems •Great communication and presentation skills •An ability to work with a variety of teams and coordinate their efforts •Ability to work independently or as part of a team •Passionate about safety and risk reduction •Ability to work with great detail and accuracy •Resilience and good working ethos If you are interested in hearing more about it this position, please apply with your most recent version of your CV to this advert or contact Iain Shanley at Alexander Steele Recruitment.
