Health, Safety, Environmental & Facilities Manager
Alexander Steele has partnered with a leading Food Manufacturer that is looking for a Health, Safety, Environmental & Facilities Manager. It is a key leadership role, guiding their compliance, environmental, and people safety strategy across the site.
Location: Kent
Salary: Up to £49,000 plus Performance related bonus
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am – 4pm (Onsite)

Job Purpose

General Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a safe, legally compliant working environment for all staff
  • Develop and maintain H&S policies, procedures, and risk assessments
  • Lead incident investigations and drive corrective action plans
  • Coordinate site inspections, audits, fire drills, and lone-working protocols
  • Champion the Environmental & Sustainability strategy, aligning with wider business goals
  • Oversee facilities maintenance, ensuring safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery
  • Mentor and support the Environmental & Sustainability Coordinator
  • Lead H&S committee meetings and deliver internal training sessions
  • Collaborate closely with Production, Technical, HR, and other business functions
  • Manage onboarding inductions for new and agency staff
  • Stay current with HSE regulations and best practices
Experience, Knowledge and Qualifications
  • NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
  • 3+ years’ experience in H&S management within manufacturing
  • Strong working knowledge of H&S, COSHH, and environmental legislation
  • Background in industrial/manufacturing environments
  • Confident team leader with strong communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence and full right to work in the UK
