Alexander Steele Recruitment continues to partner with a leading food manufacturer, and we are currently supporting them with the appointment of an experienced HR Manager at their facility in Leeds.
On offer:
- Salary is £60,000 - £70,000 depending on experience
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays

The HR Manager will lead the human resources function at the large food manufacturing facility. Reporting directly to the Site General Manager, the HR Manager will play a key role in driving a high-performance culture by implementing best-in-class HR practices that support operational goals, workforce engagement, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Site Manager and leadership team to align HR strategies with business objectives.
- Lead site-wide HR initiatives including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and retention.
- Ensure compliance with all employment laws, food industry standards, and company policies.
- Manage employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and support conflict resolution.
- Drive workforce planning and talent development initiatives to support production and operational efficiency.
- Champion employee engagement and support a positive work environment aligned with the company’s values.
- Support health and safety initiatives in collaboration with EHS and Operations.
- Lead disciplinary and grievance processes, providing guidance to managers and supervisors.
- Manage site HR systems, documentation, and personnel records in line with GDPR and internal policies.
- Coordinate and deliver training programs to develop employee capabilities and support succession planning.
Candidate requirements:
- Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- CIPD qualified
- Minimum 5 years of HR generalist experience in a food manufacturing or food distribution environment.
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices.
- Proven experience in managing employee relations and advising line managers.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels.
- Hands-on, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, operational environment.
