Ingredient Buyer - Ingredients Alexander Steele is recruiting on behalf of one of the UK's leading good businesses, suppliny food products to the UK's Food Service & Retail sector. Our client manages their entire supply chain from start to finish and have majopr processing sites across the UK. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Ingredient Buyer to join the team, responsible for condiments such as sauces, glazes & marinades. Hybrid Working - 3 x per week in the Northamptonshire Area. £50k - £60k + Company Car / allowance + Bonus + Benefits What your tasks are: • Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with preferred suppliers. • Negotiating prices, agree terms & conditions and set-up contracts for supply agreements. • Perform spend, contract & market analysis for ingredient category and communicate effectively to the wider business. • Work closely with all sites with management of lead times, MOQs & shelf life to ensure continuity of supply. • Source new ingredients & suppliers where required. • Working closely with NPD & Technical to ensure supplier approval & product integrity. • Must have a good understanding of the raw material market. What you need to be successful: • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar category. • Working towards CIPS qualification. • Good analytical and reporting skills. • Ability to recognise future and market trends. • Knowledge of ingredient raw materials & commodity markets. • Contract management & SRM experience. • Good commercial awareness. • Communication skills. • Ability to interface cross functionally at all levels. • Risk management experience desired.
