Alexander Steele Recruitment is working with a manufacturing business as they are looking to hire an IT Assistant for their Site near Redditch. Job Purpose: •First point of contact for all IT matters on Site •Escalation point for IT issues to within IT team •Administration and maintaining a number of IT systems and a range of applications. •Working within the company on general infrastructure issues and new projects. •Problem solving across full range of IT issues. •Working with 3rd party suppliers Responsibilities: •Hardware installation and maintenance •Network configuration and maintenance •Software maintenance and troubleshooting Liaison with third party software providers •Willingness to step up and cover at a more senior level and progress any issues. •Maintain and expand key communication areas within the business from phone, internet, VPN’s, email, instant messaging and video conferencing. •Train and support staff in the use of the various communication system •Install and configure new IT infrastructure whether it be onsite or cloud. •Maintain support and upkeep of IT infrastructure, so to keep performance high and downtime low. •Install new servers whether they be physical, or cloud based. •Maintain servers, perform updates, maintain user accounts and server security. •Maintain, support and update any software solution within the business. •Maintain backup system and check that these key systems are functioning. •Provide the business with a plan in the event of an entire systems failure. •Test the D.R. plan every year to make sure 1. It works. 2. Find any improvements that can be made to shorten the amount of downtime, are presented to the business •Setup and Maintain the hardware and software for our end users. •Provide end user support in a timely manner for any hardware or software issues, to make sure the end users can perform their role within the business. •Maintain IT systems that provide security to our businesses data. •Installation and maintenance of the IT systems that provide security, for example: Firewall Policy, Web Filter, Anti-virus, Spam Filters, File Access etc. •Involvement in rolling out new or expanding current IT systems across the company.
