Here at Alexander Steele Recruitment we are working exclusively with an innovative food group and supporting them with the appointment of a Junior NPD Technologist at their site in Dorset.
You’ll support the full development journey, from identifying trends and exploring the market, through to coordinating samples, supporting project timelines, and helping deliver successful product launches.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, is naturally organised, and can balance multiple priorities at once.

Key Responsibilities
- Support product development activity across various projects, including market reviews, trend research, and monitoring new product releases
- Organise product samples, manage courier shipments and ensuring sample records are maintained accurately
- Assist with product development tasks such as recipe or ingredient support
- Track key project stages and deadlines to help ensure launches stay on schedule
- Work closely with internal teams and external partners to keep projects running smoothly
- Write clear and engaging product copy for presentations and sales/marketing materials
- Support the creation and management of product briefs and design briefs
- Collaborate with design teams to ensure packaging and artwork meet brand/customer requirements
- Help prepare internal and customer updates on product progress, launches, and market activity
- Carry out competitor checks and market research to maintain strong awareness of trends and innovation
Skills & Experience
- A food-related degree or relevant educational background
- Strong interest in food products and consumer trends
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines
- Confident communicator who can build effective working relationships
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Proactive, positive, and willing to learn quickly
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office, especially Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
