Role Overview

As a Junior Specifications Technologist, you will support the accurate completion and management of product specifications for own-label and branded chilled food products. Working closely with the Technical, NPD, and Quality teams, you will help ensure all product information complies with legal, safety, and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in writing, updating, and maintaining customer product specifications on customer portals.
  • Ensure specifications are accurate, compliant with food legislation, and aligned with internal and customer standards.

  • Support artwork sign-off processes, checking that all label information complies with specifications and legal requirements.
  • Conduct product checks against signed-off specifications to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Maintain records and databases of specifications and associated technical documentation.
  • Stay informed on food legislation updates and customer codes of practice.
  • Assist in internal and external audits as required.

Candidate requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Passion for food and an eagerness to grow in the food manufacturing industry.
