Alexander Steele are delighted to have been engaged with supporting a highly established food manufacturing business in Nottinghamshire in securing a Lead Category Buyer.There has never been a more exciting time to join this business, as they embark on the next stage of their growth. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the successful incumbent in this high-profile position will support in the delivery of the Supplier and Procurement Strategy, focused on cost Saving initiatives to ultimately help build on their market share over competitors. The Role To deliver the Financial benefits assumed in the Company Strategic Plan To promote best practice and working relations with Internal stakeholders To provide the link between the Supply Chain and Product Portfolio Teams To enhance Supplier Relationships and promote the brand To assess current Supplier Base and propose/negotiate improvements Review current Sourcing Methods and Suppliers to ensure value for money and ethical sourcing Ensure business risk is minimised through regular Supplier Assessment and robust contracts Create strong supplier relationships, Market leading Innovation plans and be an ‘Industry Expert’ for the defined Category Ensure good exit plan for discontinued stock Support Head Of Procurement to build ‘Best in Class’ environment Improve overall Company Gross Margin across defined Category, Projects etc Overall accountability for Procurement spends circa £14m The Person Strong Buying/Procurement experience (Minimum of 4 years) Global Sourcing experience Ability to liaise with key stakeholders throughout the business Commercially Astute Highly Numerate Strong Excel skills Highly developed Influencing and Negotiation techniques Successful in developing healthy long-term Supplier Relationships Strong Planning, Organisation and Time Management skills Able to undertake overseas travel Constructively challenge opinions and status quo Demonstrate Creative Thinking Professional and Collaborative in approach and able to develop strong working relationships internally If this role could be of interest, please do not hesitate to reach out for more information via email at liam@alexandersteele.com.
