Mainteance Engineer

Alexander Steele Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a large food manufacturing company based in Aberdeenshire. We are currently assisting them with the recruitment of a Maintenance Engineer to join their business. The shift pattern for the role working 4 on / 4 off working days. The salary on offer for the opportunity is circa £42,000 plus training. The Role Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Routines, electrical and mechanical routine checking of equipment, quality inspections and troubleshooting on the production lines and process, working to minimise downtime Electro-mechanical repairs to high-speed, PLC-controlled plant, handling and packaging equipment, also pneumatic, troubleshooting using PLC Logic and hydraulic control systems Effective communication with productions teams, providing timely updates on breakdowns/downtime Technical support for the plant facilities and services, including compressed air, refrigeration and steam Be observant and work off your own initiative when a fault is detected and take remedial action based on your best judgement on whether to effect immediate repair or not Analyse the efficiency of current procedures and suggest improvements Update the maintenance management system (CMMS), records of all changes, stores transactions made, and work carried out Any other duties as required by management and within the competency of the post holder The Candidate Suitable Mechanical and/or Electrical Qualification essential Experience working in meat/food production environment preferred Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC control, refrigeration and PTW systems desirable Strong diagnostic/root cause analysis skills essential Ability to multitask and work under own initiative to deliver to deadlines Able to work within a team and autonomously If you would like to find out more about this great opportunity, please apply with your most recent CV or Call Clarke Smith on 07 507 866 353
