Maintenance Engineer

Alexander Steele are currently recruiting for a food manufacturing business based in the Kent area. They are looking for several engineers, due to expansion and growth of their current team. Ideally, they are looking for a multi-skilled engineer with either an Electrical or Mechanical Bias. You will need to be an effective member of the maintenance team and support the running of the factory by resolving breakdowns and by delivering planned maintenance, whilst ensuring work is carried out to the highest possible standard. Key Accountabilities •Repair and maintain all equipment to the manufacturer’s standard •Carry out maintenance, testing and repair work and complete relevant documentation •Support continuous improvement projects and installation of new machinery •Work with your engineering colleagues to ensure departmental KPI’s are met •Work with Engineering Management in maintaining the departments safety standards and compliance with regulatory requirements •Communicate effectively with team members, production managers and supervisors on any breakdown information and timescales to the best of your knowledge The ideal candidate will possess: - •HND Level or above in relevant engineering Qualification •A proven track record within a food or similar FMCG manufacturing environment •Time served electrician (17th Edition Qualification desirable) •Multi skilled with sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles •Problem solving skills with understanding of root cause analysis •Flexible approach to shift working to meet factory requirements •Ability to work to manage workload whilst working to the required deadlines Working a shift pattern consisting of rotating days and nights they are offering a salary between £33,000 - £38,000 depending on experience.
