Our client is an international manufacturing business, supplying high quality products used widely in the global automotive, consumer and medical markets. The Company has grown rapidly over recent years and is set to continue as it builds on its reputation for technology innovation and expertise in manufacturing from its UK and China facilities, and its strong focus on delivery of practical, well-engineered solutions for its global client base. To facilitate this, and to harness structural changes in how businesses efficiently access client decision making and sales channels, it is investing in the Group’s marketing capabilities and developing complimentary promotional channels designed to communicate its expanding brand proposition internationally. The Role: Over the past year, the company has increased its marketing spend substantially to grow its on-line presence, develop effective communication and promotional tools and strengthen the company’s brand awareness. As part of its growth strategy, the Company is seeking to recruit a marketing professional to support the global sales, field engineering and marketing team, and through their expertise and contribution, will articulate and promote the Company’s brand proposition through the following areas; Help further develop the business’ brand proposition, aligning it with the values and needs sought by the Company’s current and targeted audiences. Build and maintain relevant media communication channels designed to proactively increase awareness, relevance and attraction for the businesses markets. Oversee and maintain content to existing media, including the Company website. Plan and manage trade show participation and targeted client road-show events. Manage a marketing budget covering all external marcomm activities. The candidate will also support ongoing development of market intelligence tools for the global marketing and sales teams, including improved use of the existing CRM platform and, through accessing of industry data sources, build a GPS tool for future sales activity targeting. Providing clear and effective communication across the Company is regarded as an essential part of our growth, so this role will assist the leadership team with site-wide communication processes designed to keep the global workforce well informed on business and social interest items. Based in Glasgow, UK, reporting to the European Sales and Development Group Leader with matrix line to Group Commercial Director. Profile and skills: The Company culture is one of flexibility and team working, actively encouraging a hands-on approach throughout the entire organisation. The role is very much for someone who enjoys being involved with a wide variety of tasks, can prioritise their time accordingly, and works efficiently and takes pride in achieving challenging goals. Given the global nature of the business and its markets, this role will require some international travel. It is very likely you will be an established marketeer who is looking to take their next career move into a growing medium size international organisation, and where the breadth of responsibilities makes you excited. You will be an excellent communicator able to interact with all levels of an organisation confidently. Experience in developing effective promotional media platforms, organising international exhibition events, and ideally bringing experience in building market intelligence tools are seen as valuable, though this is a role where the right candidate can grow and develop. Above all you will have initiative, an ability to work effectively to deadlines, and not be daunted by the unknown. A respect and appreciation of different cultures is however essential given the business operates globally, and we anticipate this role will develop further where the need to supervise staff, some of whom will be operating in other sites, is expected, so having leadership attributes will be a distinctive advantage. Qualifications: Candidates with a university degree, able to demonstrate a good understanding of marketing principals and methodologies, plus candidates with proficiency in a second European language will have an advantage. A minimum educational attainment to A Level/Scottish Higher in at least three subjects. Computer literacy is essential, with familiarity with Microsoft Office a minimum requirement (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). Candidates with proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite will have an advantage. The role will, after an initial period, require some international travel, so a valid passport and driving licence is mandatory.
