Multi-skilled Engineer

Alexander Steele is working exclusively with an independent food manufacturing businesses to recruit a Multi-skilled Engineer to their team based in Cambridgeshire. The Multi-skilled Engineer will be responsible for: •Maintenance of all plant & services on site. •Ensuring effective running, maximum uptime & minimal downtime for all our internal customers. •The completion of tasks given by the Engineering Manager. •To ensure that site PM and legal checks are completed in the agreed timescales. •The Health and Safety of any person on site. •Responsible for all plant and machinery on site. •Ensure all parts that are required are requested/ordered and in in a timely manner, with particular attention to essential items/longer lead times. •To ensure that all work is carried out to meet current legislative standards •Assist and support all contractors on site. •Implement site production improvement initiatives. •Carry out small in-house projects and implement to include full commissioning Essential Skills and qualifications: •Nationally Recognized Electrical/Mechanical qualification to enable the safe diagnosis and repair of faults within motors, control systems and lighting systems. •Nationally recognised levels of competence in mechanical/electrical maintenance and installation. •The ability to interface with PLC’s to determine and repair control system faults. •Competence of Packing Machinery, Material Handling Systems, Pumping Systems, Etc. to suit the needs of our business. •Sound fabrication skills including welding/pipe fitting •A thorough knowledge of all current and impending health and safety legislation •Ability to be a team player and work closely with others. •Self-motivated. •Good communication skills.
