Packaging Technologist

Alexander Steele are working in partnership with a highly established food manufacturer, who are seeking a Packaging Development Technologist to join their growing NPD function. Reporting into the Packaging Development Manager and working very closely with senior NPD stakeholders, the successful incumbent will support NPD projects whilst also supporting the improvement of the packaging function including systems, processes and packaging formats. This will be a Monday – Friday role paying circa £30,000 - £35,000 for the right candidate. The role Creation of packaging specifications for the facility Coordination of factory trials Supporting the business function from concept through to launch Becoming a key member of key packaging development projects, driving improved standards across the function Ability to liaise with key stakeholders throughout the business Supporting technical risk assessments on changes to packaging Supporting with artwork and packaging development processes, manufacturing etc Skills required Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Excellent Microsoft Office skills (excel and word). Understanding of basic design and concepts. Excellent interpersonal skills including an ability to communicate at all levels. Pro-active self-starter with a positive, can-do attitude, enthusiasm, high energy levels, methodical and a tenacious commitment to work. Attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlines. The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team. The ability to be able to interact with various business departments. Keen understanding of packaging and printing processes. Experience Ideally 1-2 years relevant experience within an FMCG packaging role.
