Packaging Technologist

Alexander Steele are delighted to be working with this global, innovative business on an exciting new role! Our client is looking for a Packaging Technologist to join their team at their site in Leicestershire Reporting to the Head of Innovation, the Packaging Technologist will be responsible for packaging project management for all of our clients packaged products and for their customers products with a strong focus on sustainability, cost effectiveness and quality. Key responsibilities: •Lead input on packaging development projects from brief to final product •Provide packaging expertise to support the business and supply chain objectives •Project manage the packaging work stream for packaging development for the business and the customer brands •Identify opportunities to reduce packaging costs to the business whilst maintaining quality of product •Ensuring that packaging meet set specification and requirements •Be able to create effective partnerships with stakeholders - Marketing, Purchasing, Supply Chain, Production and Suppliers to ensure delivery of key business developments •Run packaging trials and testing to check for suitability and performance •Manage artwork development for the business and the customers brands •Choose packaging solutions from suppliers •Ensure that you are keeping up to date with technological innovations The Candidate: •Technical packaging development and project leadership experience in an FMCG environment •Excellent communication skills and great interpersonal skills especially for relationship building, facilitation and written / verbal communication •Proactive and creative approach to problem solving •Excellent attention to detail •Good IT Skills •Be able to work to strict deadlines •Must be able to travel between sites (Leicester and London) In return our client is offering a generous salary of between £30,000 and £40,000 depending on experience plus great benefits.
