Process Reliability Engineer

Alexander Steele are currently recruiting for a Process & Reliability Engineer for a Manufacturing Client in Hertfordshire. This a newly formed position and is a key hire for them. Paying between £40,000 - £45,000 depending on experience working a Monday – Friday shift (9am – 5pm flexible) / 40 hours per week. Please see more details below and apply if you feel this is for you! KEY RESPONSIBILITIES •Own, lead and implement the site effective maintenance strategy. •Ensure all areas are using the standard approach to maintenance •To be the site champion in implementing best practice reliability / maintenance processes and plans to deliver world class reliability and customer service. •Drive maintenance improvement via continuous improvement using reliability data; GEMBA observations and maintenance improvement tools and processes including RCA; Reliability Based Maintenance; FMECA; and OAC •Accountability for the effective maintenance plans for new equipment being brought on site. Provide guidance and support the Project Engineers who have responsibility for this task •Stay at the forefront of industry/GSK best practice regarding reliability and translate into the site effective maintenance strategy •Act as a reliability coach / mentor to Engineers & shift technicians and where possible design and deliver specific training programs for the development of these engineering staff ensuring technical, GMP, Quality, Health & Safety are considered in all aspects of the role. •To regularly review the performance of plant and equipment utilising (e.g. SAP, RCA, OAC and continuous improvement principles) to formulate plans for improving reliability and reduction of breakdowns and short stops. •Provide appropriate advice to line managers on group and site related issues, policies, legislative changes etc. •Ensure appropriate site policies are followed – updating as and when required. •Undertake weekly and monthly reporting on a range of H&S KPI’s. •Collate and manage all accident and near miss documentation, both live and historical, to ensure legislative compliance and departmental efficiency. •Ensure all Site Standard Operating Procedures reflect the requirements of the appropriate risk assessment. •Assist with the periodic review of PUWER assessments and COSHH data sheets ensuring site compliance. Job related Experience •Experience of working in an FMCG (or equivalent) within a GMP compliant environment •Significant Problem-Solving skills with a proven record of resolving major issues at their root cause through working with engineering, technical and operational teams •Experience of working in a mechanical or electrical engineering environment. •Experience in developing close links with key site customers (quality, operations, EHS) •Demonstrated knowledge of engineering standards and statutory requirements for plant, machinery, and workplaces applicable to a large volume consumer products factory •To have displayed the behaviour/passion to encourage and assist the development of the technicians and others •Proven communication skills whilst working in a team •Capable of working with suppliers to resolve issues •Effective managing of the manufacturing / packaging lines within the R&M budget •Build and support a culture of continuous Health and Safety Improvement •Engage with all employees on the importance of H&S in relation to the full employee life cycle •Technical role with large emphasis on continuous improvement. Practical application of engineering principles is a must.
