Alexander Steele Recruitment is working alongside a large UK Food Manufacturing company to find a Purchasing Manager to join their site in North East Scotland after a significant business expansion. This is a significant development opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to join a well-established business at an exciting time of growth. I'm looking for an experienced Procurement Manager with a strong track record of delivering results and excellent category knowledge spanning ingredients, packaging and indirect services. The business has a great culture, is well respected and offers long-term career opportunities. Its products are of the highest quality and are recognised for their innovation. They have recently won numerous awards for excellence and innovation and have invested heavily in their production facilities. It's exciting to join the business as they have a clear strategy. As part of the senior leadership team, you will be responsible for setting the procurement strategy for the company. You will manage complex ingredients by working in partnership with suppliers and customers to accelerate financial delivery, avoid risk and transform supplier-led innovation. Candidates will have a strong understanding and experience in buying various ingredients and the expertise in working collaboratively with key stakeholders across a complex business. The salary/package on offer is circa £45,000 - £50,000 + benefits. The Role Negotiating contracts with suppliers and setting up processes to improve efficiency. Analyse price trends and assess their impact on future activities. Review Sales and usage forecast to ensure that raw materials are available on time for production. Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers. Keep up to date with market knowledge and pursue supply channels to enhance business performance. Candidate Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Commerce or equivalent. At least 3 to 5 years of Purchasing Management experience within a Food/Drinks manufacturing industry. Contract negotiation and management skills; ability to analyse and interpret statistical data.
