Alexander Steele is working in partnership with a food manufacturer based in East Riding of Yorkshire, who are currently looking to recruit a permanent Production Shift Manager a day shift. They have a have an exciting career development opportunity for a Production Shift Manager who wants to excel in a fast paced, hands-on, customer focused food manufacturing environment. As a key member of the site management team, this leadership role will lead, manage and deliver operational excellence in all areas of People, Product, Process, Plant and Performance. Key dynamics of the role include: •Accountability for all production ensuring that plant throughput rates are met to achieve the required production targets to meet customer service levels whilst maintaining the integrity of the product. •Achieving high GMP standards through visible leadership. •Driving a right first-time approach. •Ensuring the achievement of all KPIs. •Ensuring daily operations maximise productivity and minimise waste. •Operating flexibly and responding quickly to change and opportunities – actively demonstrating the capacity to get into action fast and make things happen. •Developing a ‘learning environment’ i.e. one which facilitates the development and training of all colleagues in order to meet business needs. •Supporting the growth and engagement of colleagues through performance development reviews, succession planning and effective communication. •Ensuring that all team members pursue safe working practices and compliance with all accident and reporting procedures. •Candidates must have a strong production background gained within a FMCG food environment together with demonstrable experience of leadership, leading a production team across shift and achieving operational excellence. Candidate Experience •Previous Food Manufacturing experience is essential •Proven people management experience •Experience in driving the Health & Safety culture •Continuous improvement •Managing KPI’s and adherence •Preparing and supporting the business audit by major retailers and driving improvement •Be hands on, flexible and adaptable with a positive attitude •Excellent communication skills.
