Alexander Steele Recruitment has partnered with a leading Food business that is on the lookout for a Purchasing Manager to take responsibility for the purchasing of all locally managed raw materials across two of their sites; you will also be required to contribute to the development and implementation of the regional and global purchasing strategies
Key responsibilities:
• Manage a raw material spend of approximately £13 million, making sure that all business requirements with respect to assurance of Supply, Quality, Service, and Innovation are fulfilled.
• Identify and implement cost saving initiatives.
• Drive effective supplier and contract negotiations
• Implement action plans with suppliers to improve performance that meet or exceed contractual performance criteria
• Liaise cross-functionally with supply chain teams and other site managers, to discuss relevant purchasing issues for all direct expenditure, acting as a liaison between the business and the purchasing department.
• First point of contact for the business to resolve any delivery, quality, or service issues for raw materials.
• Streamline and improve operational purchasing processes.
Candidate requirements:
• Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Business Management, Supply Chain or equivalent.
• A MCIPS, C.P.M. or equivalent professional qualification will be preferred
• At least 3 to 5 years procurement/purchasing experience in a Food/Drinks or Consumer Goods manufacturing/processing environment.
• Effective contract and supplier management skills
• People management experience will be preferred
Salary will be circa £45K to £50K + Bonus + Private Healthcare
Hybrid remote working option with travel to their Buckingham based offices 3 days a week
