Alexander Steele is working with a food manufacturing business based in Doncaster as they are looking to appoint a Quality Assurance Supervisor. You must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience within the food industry in a quality/technical role. The successful candidate must have some experience of managing/supervising a team. Previous experience of the BRC standard and HACCP is essential. Key responsibilities •Implement counter measures and procedures to reduce and prevent internal quality problems and customer complaints •Analyse and report results in accordance with Company requirements •Oversee the QA product launch process ensuring RFT launches •Ensure all non-conformances are reported and corrective actions & preventative actions are implemented with an emphasis on root cause closure •Release of stock where effective corrective and preventative action has been taken. Support senior management risk assessment for stock release through provision of relevant & accurate information •Regularly review quality procedures, documents and records for completeness, ease of reference and accuracy •Develop procedures and work instructions to enhance quality compliance throughout the Company •Develop and deliver training in quality procedures and techniques ensuring the QA training matrix is maintained and wider business training is supported •Support complaint investigations ensuring customer expectations and timescales are met •Support allergen/vegan validation and verification exercises •Supervise/report on QA performance, support the QA 121 and appraisal process to ensure continued development of the QA team •Oversee and coordinate the overall Quality Assurance schedules, issuing schedules and assigning responsibilities to the QA team as appropriate to ensure required frequencies are met •Maintenance of the technical calibration schedule ensuring equipment is calibrated according to the manufacturer’s instructions •Contribute to the site internal audit system by conducting internal QMS audits and HACCP audits •Ensure delivery against QA department and business objectives •Assist in providing the necessary definition, development, and deployment of the Quality Assurance strategy •Liaise with all departments to ensure that the Quality Assurance strategy is instrumental in all departmental plans and objectives •Support and or undertake continual improvement projects as required by the business to improve efficiency and/or performance •Proactive in identifying quality issues in all functions from purchasing of raw materials through to delivery to the customer and be able to offer effective solutions and assist in the implementation of corrective & preventative actions Experience required: •5+ years’ experience within food manufacturing •Previous experience of the BRC standard and HACCAP (essential) •Internal auditing, pest control and root cause analysis (essential) •HACCAP Level 3 or 4 (preferred) •Food Safety Level 3 or 4 (preferred) On Offer: •£32,000 •4 on 4 off shift pattern •6pm – 6:30am If you are interested in hearing more about it this position, please apply with your most recent CV.
