Sales Director

Sales Director Alexander Steele are working in partnership with successful FMCG packaging business. The business has some exciting growth plans and are looking to appoint a new Sales Director to lead the team. Role summary This senior role will work directly with the founding directors to implement the existing sales strategy and have the opportunity to shape its evolution in future. The primary focus of the role is to accelerate the growth of profitable sales. This will be achieved through the management and coaching of the regional sales managers (including the formulation and management of KPI’s) as well as key account management from the creation and submission of RFP’s and related sales documents through to management of price changes, stock-outs and general service & support. The role involves both the strengthening of existing customer relationships and the prospecting and development of new customers through means such as networking and attending events. This senior position will also oversee the interface between the Sales Team and the Buying and Admin Teams ensuring that the latest customer information updates are systematically and rapidly passed through to Planning and that redundant lines are managed effectively through to disposal. Experience and Qualifications B2B industry sales expertise (food, drinks, packaging, equipment) Experience managing and leading a sales team. Demonstrate strong numerical, analytical and spreadsheet skills Show a proven track record in sales including the ability to prospect and convert new customers, and to retain and develop existing customers to their full potential Have at least 4 years’ experience in successfully managing a sales team including coaching and developing team members as part of a success-based culture Demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit and interest to understand the business workings at a broad level including supply chain, logistics and planning functions Possess strong negotiation skills and the ability to effectively manage customer expectations Value accuracy and attention to detail and have a customer service mindset Bring an energy and enthusiasm to the role This exciting position brings the opportunity to influence and guide a successful, growing and ambitious business and to benefit from a long-term incentive plan that rewards success.
