Senior Food Technologist

I am delighted to have been engaged with a food business in the North West of England, looking to add to their technical function with the hire of a Senior Food Technologist. Reporting into the Head of Technical, the role has 2 direct reports and is paying up to £50,000 base + a very competitive package. The Role The focus of this role is to provide strong support to the Head of Technical, supporting the function and progressing the technical agenda of the business; Technical approval of suppliers HACCP support BRC compliance Artwork sign off on time, in full within Gate Process Packaging artwork, Packaging conformance, NPD, Brand technical audit, Supplier management Product testing/ tasting programme, Crisis management BRC audits, Risk management – HACCP TACCP VACCP Specifications, Masterdata, Supplier audits, Consumer complaints, Food law, Packaging waste compliance The Candidate Educated to degree level within the sciences (eg food science, microbiology, Chemistry) or equivalent Ideally at least 5 years’ technical experience in the food industry Lead Assessor Food Audit qualification with experience of onboarding sites HACCP with a minimum of Level 3 HACCP certification Food safety and food legislation Quality management systems: implementation and management Food category experience: supplier auditing and management Contributing to technical strategy Building & managing teams High levels of resilience and robustness Excellent communication & influencing skills combined with strong leadership skills Strong team player but prepared to be the lone voice Determination to achieve & willingness to continually learn Proven record of demonstrating initiative & delivering results If this role could be of interest and you would like more information, please get in touch or forward your updated CV.
