Senior Production Manager

Our client is an innovative and major producer of a range of specialist products supplying to a wide range of end users. Due to a continued investment in both plant and people ( including major CAPEX investment ) they now have an exciting opportunity for a talented individual to join their winning team. This position would suit a dynamic, driven and likeable individual who is able to lead and facilitate change management in a positive way throughout the site. The Role Responsible for the operation, and all aspects of production at their production facility, you will take a managerial lead for five direct reports but also act as technical lead for the process and production facility and will therefore require a hands on approach. The role will lead the interaction with the functional support teams in relation to maintenance, planning, budgetary reporting, quality and SHE. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Member of the Site Leadership Team engaged in developing overall site strategy and resource management plans. Deliver Safety Health and Environmental excellence. Ensure Plant appearance and housekeeping standards are maintained and company policy and regulatory requirements are met. Develop and deliver Group wide improvement plans including Management of Change (MOC) and Permit to Work (PTW). Lead the production organisation ensuring full regulatory compliance in all aspects of Plant operation. Manage the short interval control process for the Plant and lead daily production meetings. Deliver against business production plans ensuring volume and quality requirements are achieved. Develop operational excellence ensuring required training, operating instructions and control procedures are in place and ensure that Operators are competent and have ownership for the process. Identify training and development requirements for production team and assist the HR Team in planning training for individuals and teams Ensure maximum plant utilisation by appropriate prioritising and allocation of tasks, maintaining plant OEE data and loss reporting system, identifying repetitive failures / trends and developing an improvement / optimisation program in conjunction with the site engineering teams. Developing 5 year capex program in conjunction with Engineering to ensure unit operations are optimised and appropriate controls and monitoring and reporting processes are in place. May be required to deputise for the Site Manager. The Person You will be an individual who is motivated by developing your team, seeing them achieve and leading by example to maximise the performance of the plant. Previous experience working in a process plant is essential Previous people management experience (particularly in leading a team of up to 50) is essential; knowledge of shift working/operation would be desirable Knowledge and understanding of current legislation and compliance, i.e. IPCC, EA, HSE Knowledge and experience of LEAN tools and techniques would be highly desirable.
