A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Specifications Technologist to join the Technical team of a leading international Food company As Specification Technologist you will play an essential part in ensuring the production of accurate product specifications meeting both legal and customer requirements. This position will suit someone who has a keen eye for detail with a quality approach to their work and would like to build a long-term career within a successful, ambitious, and professional environment. Some experience in a similar role or food related degree would be advantageous however this role would also suit a graduate or someone looking for a career in the food industry. Key Responsibilities include: •To liaise with suppliers and retailer customers to develop and modify product specifications ensuring that they meet with the specified legal and customer requirements and are right first time including. •Work alongside suppliers to develop and assess product specifications ensuring that they meet with the specified legal requirements. •Ensure that raw material specifications are kept on site for controlled ingredients and to ensure they are updated in-line with the specification review program. •Create and maintain Technical Product Folders for all lines supplied and product attribute sheets •Provide support to colleagues within the Technical Department. •Completion of traceability and product recall tests using SAP as required •Generation of new product codes The ideal candidate: •Basic knowledge and understanding of legal requirements for food specification is desirable. •Demonstrates a high degree of attention to detail. •Strong research abilities. •Establish and maintain working relationships with others. •Ability to present information in a clear, concise, and accurate manner •The ability to work effectively under pressure in this fast-paced environment. •Self-motivated and organised. •Ability to multitask and prioritise workload. •Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office. What the business offer: •Salary circa £28,000 •Hybrid working - 3 days Home / 2 days Office •Holiday entitlement of 33 days inclusive of bank and public holidays, increasing with service. •Benefits include Income Protection Scheme.
