Here at Alexander Steele we are working with a leading UK based food manufacturing business who are seen as innovators in their field and a trusted name in the snack industry. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join this business as Technical Assistant where you will play a key role in the smooth running of the Technical Department. Key responsibilities: • Create, maintain and update finish product and raw material specifications. • Communicate with customers and suppliers including responding to technical enquiries, complete documentation including supplier questionnaires, risk assessments, supply chain maps and certificate of analysis. • Maintain the supplier database. • Ensure packaging information is correct and legal. • Complete and maintain product Quality Attribute sheets, SOPs, Maintain settings recipes and other documentation require to ensure products are manufactured following agreed specifications. • Undertake all QA Technologist duties in their absence - Goods intake quality checks, laboratory sample administration and factory checks. • Carry out internal audits. • Responsible to Technical KPI reports. • General technical administrative support • Contribute to CI by putting forward ideas that might improve quality, efficiency and profitability of the business. • Maintain food safety and Health & Safety standards. The candidate: • A minimum of 2 years workings in a food manufacturing environment within an office based Technical role. • Food Safety and HACCP qualifications. • Competent using Microsoft 0ffice applications. • Resilience and a can do attitude. • Great time management skills. • Excellent communication skills – dealing with customers and team members. This is a Monday to Friday role so no weekend work required and the salary is between £25,000 to £27,000 depending on experience.
