Trader - Plastic Commodities

Our client, a leading global supplier of commodities into manufacturing industries is urgently looking for a Trader / Buyer to develop and drive forward their Plastics trading operations in the UK, Middle East & Africa. Key responsibilities include: To generating trades for plastics including PET granules, PVC, HDPE, LDPE and Polypropylene; as well as other packaging products. Receive, process, and respond rapidly and positively to customer requests for quotations for goods to maximize the organisations’ opportunities to win business. Manage and constantly update the database of suppliers, customers, and products. Manage trading contracts from initial contact to conclusion and have overall responsibility for every commercial aspect of the trading relationship. Seek out and analyse potential suppliers and customers with the express purpose of establishing sustained commitments on both sides Candidate requirements: A tertiary qualification in Procurement, Business Management, Supply Chain, or equivalent will be preferrable. At least 4 to 6 years Trading, Buying, or Procurement experience of Plastics including PET granules, PVC, HDPE, LDPE and Polypropylene. Ability to build and maintain effective relations with suppliers and customers that reinforce the business’ reputation in the market and to maintain high standards of supply and service to customers. Salary will be circa £55K to £60K + Benefits The role will be based in the London area, with hybrid remote working options.
