The Role
We are seeking an ambitious Junior Account Manager eager to progress into an Account Manager role. In this position, you will commercially manage and grow the customer’s produce business by delivering category objectives across volume, price, and mix - while maintaining a sharp focus on bottom-line profitability. This role is dedicated to the Co-op account and will work closely with the Head of Commercial for support and guidance.

The Role
We are seeking an ambitious Junior Account Manager eager to progress into an Account Manager role. In this position, you will commercially manage and grow the customer’s produce business by delivering category objectives across volume, price, and mix - while maintaining a sharp focus on bottom-line profitability. This role is dedicated to the Co-op account and will work closely with the Head of Commercial for support and guidance.
Key responsibilities
- Understand and align with the customer’s strategy, category plans, and business processes.
- Develop and agree annual account plans with clear objectives.
- Manage cross-functional relationships including buying, marketing, merchandising, product development, and supply chain.
- Conduct regular business and category reviews to set future goals and identify improvement areas.
- Oversee product and range performance, managing new product launches to meet marketing and financial targets.
- Monitor competitor activity and update both internal teams and customers accordingly.
- Review sales forecasts and promotional plans to ensure KPIs and service levels are met.
- Support commercial negotiations on pricing, specification, distribution, and volumes to achieve business goals.
- Provide monthly trading reports highlighting variances, plans, and potential risks and opportunities.
- Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent
- Experience managing retailer accounts, with strong relationship-building skills
- Determined and enthusiastic, with excellent influencing and organisational abilities
- Confident communicator and presenter, skilled at analysing competitive activity, market trends, and opportunities
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word at an intermediate to advanced level
- Fresh thinker, flexible, and focused on teamwork and customer service
- Some experience in people management
- Experience working in a fast-paced produce environment would be beneficial
- Full driving licence required
- 40k salary, 10% bonus opportunity, 5% matched pension contribution
