Alexander Steele Recruitment are working exclusively with a market leading branded food manufacturing business. The business leads the their category, supplying all UK Major Retailers. Commercial Manager – ASDA Overview: As the Commercial Manager, you'll be accountable for the planning and delivery of a profitable growth plan for Asda within our portfolios as well as ownership of the Asda convenience channel across the full portfolio. You'll utilise category and consumer insight to influence the customer and delight the shopper at points of purchase to achieve key business targets. You'll have day to day management of wider business functions (Category, Marketing, Finance and Supply) to ensure the team are all working towards one goal. Responsibilities: Generate consumer specific business plans through: o Development and management of joint business plans o Use of bespoke category and shopper insight o Full understanding of business performance and key performance drivers o Development of profit-based account plans and budgets including identifying the customer’s key volume and profit drivers o Development of customer specific promotional calendars in line with the Corporate Calendar o Development of a convenience strategy for Asda – utilising best practise from establish customers within the channel and in line with Asda’s strategy priorities for the channel Monitoring portfolio effectiveness via the company tool kit / reporting system and feed learnings into the category, RGM, customer marketing and customer finance teams Manage customer product mix and align with strategic brand and category guidelines Update sales and gross profit forecasts Accountabilities: Delivering profitable growth for the account over a sustained period Driving visibility and availability of SKUs within the customer. Selling and negotiation of new listings Implementing new product launches at customer level Planning and coordinating price increases within the customer Planning and management of convenience strategy and growth plan for business in Asda Qualifications: Graduate calibre but degree not a pre-requisite 3+ years’ experience of account management Sales Skills – has a structured selling process and can conduct portfolio negotiations A category and customer first mind-set. Communication – Is influential and builds effective cross functional links both internally and externally P&L Analysis and course correction – can interpret data and use to a commercial advantage. Is able to scenario plan against internal budgets and understands key cost drivers. Will see reality and take the appropriate decision / action decisively Teamwork – Can coach a team and develop individuals Delivery motivation, enhancing potential, impact and influence, leadership qualities. Demonstrates the ability to challenge the status quo (in the right way) ability to work accurately at pace The role offers hybrid working. Based in their West Yorkshire office. Up to £60k + car or allow + 25% bonus + benefits.
