The Role
Our client is seeking a National Account Manager to lead the Co-op account while also overseeing a selection of smaller Impulse and Discounter accounts in support of delivering the long-term business goals.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement long-term sales and profit plans for key accounts in line with business and portfolio strategy.
- Take ownership of annual P&Ls, managing sales, capital, revenue, and promotional investment effectively.
- Ensure high standards across all account operations, including communications, service levels, and administration.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Category Teams to deliver aligned commercial plans on time.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across accounts and with third-party service providers.
- Maintain expert knowledge of trade, market trends, and competitor activity.
- Understand account practices, including ways of working and in-outlet activation.
- Monitor account KPIs regularly and adjust plans to achieve sales and business objectives.
- Minimum of 2 years off trade account management experience (managing Co-op is beneficial)
- FMCG experience required; experience in drinks or alcoholic beverage categories is desirable
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work under pressure
- Strategic thinker who is proactive and self-motivated
- Financially aware and numerate, able to manage budgets and commercial plans
- In-depth knowledge of the market and trade, with an established network of contacts
- Up to £60,000 basic salary (depending on experience)
- Car allowance + travel fully covered
- 10% bonus (5% company performance, 5% KPIs)
- Remote role with occasional office visits (2 per month + quarterly meetings)
