Alexander Steele are working with a successful family run food manufacturing business. The business are a leader in their category, they supply the UK’s major retailers, food service establishments and export.
National Account Manager – M&S
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
Negotiate and implement annual customer joint business plans.
Manage base business by ensuring that the necessary rate of sale driving activities & promotional plans are implemented in line with customer trade spend guidelines.
Identify and deliver new business via new listings and increased distribution including the successful launch of designated NPD initiatives. New business to include customer own brand where applicable.
Take accountability for all elements of customer pricing (including cost price increases), terms and promotions, guidelines and strong business ethics.
Manage effective communication of brand plans to designated customers and make sure that internal relationships are managed (Operations/Finance/Marketing/Supply Chain) ensuring a joined up approach to everything we do.
Actively encourage market analysis within Marketing and Category teams and ensure that competitor and market activity is effectively communicated so that business plans are informed and pricing strategy is competitive.
Take accountability for sales demand by owning all volume and financial forecasts. Active monitoring of these KPI’s to understand performance and react with a viable plan.
Work with designated customers on range/space (category) recommendations and critically evaluate pre and post promotional activity.
Ensure we are closely integrated with the customer supply chain team to maximise customer service levels
Play an effective role in all Sales and Marketing meeting forums by contributing fully to all relevant commercial matters.
Communicate competitor and market activity back to Sales and Marketing functions, specifically via weekly maintenance of the commercial tracker.
Background & Skills
Proven track record of managing national accounts,
Own label food products preffered.
Highly numerate and organised.
Willingness to travel nationally to customers as required.
The role is home based. Ideally Midlands/South East England for access to customer.
£60k + bonus + car allow + excellent benefits
