Alexander Steele has partnered with a leading global Petroleum Chemicals business that has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Analyst to partner with the Sourcing leaders for their Raw Materials, Indirect and Services, and Logistics categories. The business has powerful research and development capabilities around innovative chemistry, providing a wide array of products that drive sustainability. You will be responsible for locating, compiling, analysing, and organising all relevant spend data to meet category objectives. This includes a complete understanding of spend (historic, baseline, forecast) in accordance with the category’s supply base and business projections. Key responsibilities: • Compare data from multiple sources to draw conclusions with proven ability to format and present findings in a clear, logical, and presentable manner. • Locate and organise category and sub-category supplier contracts, understanding contract terms to aid in opportunity assessment. • Perform category supplier landscape analysis, inclusive of understanding existing supply base and the respective historic performance. • Perform ongoing sub-category market research to ensure a clear understanding of the full supplier landscape and the relationships between their capabilities and the business requirements. • Support the RFx process aligned with category strategy goals, which includes but is not limited to: decision/evaluation criteria, response analysis, negotiation analysis, and supplier selection. • Take action to identify, analyse and improve existing processes within the Category Management organisation to maximize opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness and meet new goals and objectives. • Proactively monitor and analyse performance and trends within category in order to identify and highlight issues and opportunities that support the business. Candidate requirements: • A relevant tertiary Degree • Advanced analytical skills which include the ability to refine, manufacture, and draw conclusions on large amounts of data and present impactful insights. • Proven ability to communicate and/or present information logically and clearly. • Demonstrated knowledge of procurement operations and the strategic sourcing process. • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and meet deadlines that require frequent communication, organisation/time management, and problem-solving skills. • Proven track record for working effectively in a team environment and cultivating strong internal and external relationships. • Strong quantitative analysis background. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, digital / e-procurement tools, structured data e.g. SQL, familiarity with a data visualisation tool e.g. Tableau or PowerBI, a scripting language (either Python or R) Salary will be circa £45K to £60K + Bonus + Benefits Hybrid remote working option, with travel to their Oxfordshire based offices.
