Alexander Steele is delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing food manufacturing business in the Glasgow area. Our client is known for their commitment to quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction, supplying high-quality products to leading retailers and foodservice providers across the UK.We are supporting them in their search for a Production Planner to join their supply chain team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with planning experience in FMCG or food manufacturing who wants to join a collaborative and dynamic business.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly production plans in line with demand forecasts and customer orders.

  • Liaise closely with operations, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure the effective flow of materials and finished goods.

  • Monitor capacity and production constraints, adjusting plans where necessary to meet service levels and efficiency targets.

  • Utilise ERP/MRP systems to manage planning data accurately.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the planning and scheduling processes.

  • Communicate effectively with internal teams to address any potential delays or issues with production.

  • Report on planning KPIs and support the supply chain manager with data and analysis.Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience in a Production Planning or Scheduling role within food manufacturing or FMCG.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inventory management, and supply chain coordination.

  • Proficient with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics).

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

  • Able to work well under pressure and manage changing priorities.
