Purchasing Manager

We have partnered with a leading ingredients business that has an exciting new opportunity for a Purchasing Manager to lead a team of three buyers and ensure that the right materials are delivered at the agreed specification, at the required time and at the lowest total acquisition cost. Key responsibilities • Develop margin opportunities through improved negotiation with existing suppliers, and introduction of new suppliers. • Improve and develop existing supplier relations. • Supervise a team of 3 ensuring that work tasks are planned, organised, and delivered in order to meet individual & team objectives. • Accurately process, authorise and maintain, associated purchase orders and import procedures. • Liaise with the sales team and company directors, to develop and increase the product portfolio. Candidate requirements: • A tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Commerce or equivalent. • Purchasing, Procurement or Commodity Management experience in an ingredients or functional chemicals industry will be preferred. • Excellent influencing skills and ability to cement strong working relationships with suppliers. • Ability to negotiate with suppliers whilst ensuring that a world class supply chain is delivered. Salary will be circa £75K to £85K + Pension benefits. 23 leave days + 8 bank holidays The role will be based onsite in the West Midlands area.
